Last summer, I was in Kingston and found a pair of mouse flats by world famous fashion designer, Marc Jacobs. I made the mistake of trying them on. I fell in love with them of course but, not with the $300 price tag.
After pining away over these shoes, I finally had the thought – duh! – you make everything else, why not try and make these shoes yourself? So I did and this is the result . They may not be an exact replica of the designer original but, I am happy with how they turned out and think they are still pretty cute. They cost me $15 at the most to make and the real thing retails anywhere from $195 to $325 dpending on thefabric, hardware etc chosen.
Now, even though I’ve created my own version, the question still remains – would I still love to own and wear a genuine, for realpairof Mr. Jacob’s mouse flats? The answer is – hell ya!
