Okay so I am officially now tired of winter! While I love being able to wear layers, my vintage fur coat that belonged to my great-grandmother and beautiful boots, I am starting to pine for warm breezes, lighter fabrics and the ease of just throwing on a cute, easy dress and running out the door.
Along that line of thought, I have created some new pieces, most of which are from size 12 to 22, that have spring and warmer days in mind. I have a mix of denim, linen, cotton, silk and even some knit wear. Prints include toile, chintz, polka dots, gingham and various floral prints. There are skirts, jackets and cardigan sweaters and one absolutely fabulous and sexy tunic length top that is so mine to keep if it doesn’t sell after my next show in early May!
My spring inspirations didn’t stop at garments, as you will note from the photos of a couple of my latest fascinators. I think the fascinator with the skull headed butterfly is my favourite – so perfect for a spring/summer wedding or party. A feminine and lady like hat with a twist! I found the butterfly at the craft store and just knew it would be wonderful on a hat. Once I found the flowers to pull out of and match the print on the butterfly, I was off! I also made a headband style fascinator with the same butterfly and blooms, sans skull though.
Starting next week, you will be able to find these new pieces and others at The Curious Shop 0n York Street here in Ottawa. I will be continuing to work on more pieces for the spring/summer season over the next few months so stay tuned to my blog, Facebook and perhaps pay a visit to the shop for the latest from Bombshell Revival.
