Let’s Dance

June 1, 2013 By kym Leave a Comment

This piece is so fun!  I wish I would have thought to create one back when I had my 1950’s Rockabilly inspired wedding.  I could have worn it for the reception/dance party and really rocked my theme!

The main part of the fascinator is a 45 vinyl record and a red spindle adapter has been inserted in its center.  I covered the original label of the record with black and white musical note paper and left the rest of the 45 as is.

Wired, white placards containing front and back treble clefs and various music notes were placed in the middle of the fascinator to create height and add whimsy to the design.  Red hat netting completes the colour scheme and really, what Rockabilly inspired headpiece would be complete without netting?

The bottom of the record has been finished with black felt and has been mounted to a narrow headband.  The finished piece is very lightweight and comfortable to wear.

I can’t wait to see what gal falls in love with this one and I sure hope she has a fella to take her out dancing in it!
