Well, it was a busy and fun week for me. As per demand, I created four new button-eye ragdolls, so here they are!
Say hi to Violet Voodoo. She lives up to her name with the smashing purple bows accenting her multi coloured hair and the magic potion contained in the glass bottle that she wears around her neck….not to mention the very large and sharp pins stuck in her head. Snatch her up to add some whimsy to your home and she’s sure to cast a spell on your heart….if she hasn’t already!
This saucy lady has a peppermint twist to her – just take a look at that hair! She has had a taste of the pirate life as you can see from the skull and cross bones flying high in her black bow. The heart shaped lock with key talisman that she wears on a ribbon choker tells all about her love for the sea and adventures. She would make the perfect travelling companion on your journey called life!
This darling gal loves to sit on a sunny window seat and listen to the birds sing their songs to her. A cozy reading chair with a hot cup of tea on a rainy day and a good book also make this gentle souled doll’s heart sing. Her button collection is one of her most prized possessions as each one tells a story and can add such panache when sewn on a new dress or sweater. As you can see, her most recent favourites are the lavender heart shaped buttons sprucing up her dress and ankle socks with a lone white daisy added to one of her yellow hair bows.
Here we have Stella Stitches. She is, just as her name suggests, obsessed with anything sewing and hand crafted. She has the most amazing shade of green hair and it is complimented by the tape measure ribbon bow in her hair. It is also fitting that her bow has been accented with a pair of scissors and some buttons. She has a lovely lace collar and lace trim on her ankle socks that were, of course, made by her. She always has some pins at the ready for that emergency repair job and since she is made of cloth and stuffing, she acts as her own pincushion. She is a cheery and creative little lady and is just the right thing to stitch up that lonely or broken heart!
So, there they are everyone and, just like Frankentina, they seem to have some kind of special magical charm about them. No sooner had I brought Peppermint Patches and Stella Stitches to Curious Shop for sale – Stella Stitches sold! She has gone to a great home with someone who had begged me to make more after Frankentina. Here is a picture of Stella in her new home along side her new pal, Gus.
Peppermint Patches is still at Curious Shop on York Street here in Ottawa waiting to find her forever friend match. Bella Buttons and Violet Voodoo are at home with me and also still available for sale. I will list them for sale on my website today in a separate posting. They are $35.00 each (plus shipping if you are ordering outside of Ottawa, Canada).
If you would like one of these companions as a custom order, I would love to hear from you! Get in touch with me and we can talk hair colour, any theme requests and timeline. For anyone wishing to have one created as a Christmas gift for someone special, the cut off date for ordering in time for Christmas will be mid November.
Thanks so much to everyone who has expressed such interest and joy in these dolls. It started out as an experiment with just making the one – Franketina – for fun and has snow balled into this growing population of happiness bringing little cloth people. They have captured people’s hearts and inner child….as well as my own.
