Harvest Noir

September 11, 2014 By kym Leave a Comment

The inspiration and theme of this hat came about from the finding of the mixed media framed owl print.  The next components were the toile fabric for the base (note the skeleton figures in the toile’s pattern instead of the traditional figures found in a toile print!) and the ostrich feathers and ribbon in cream and black.

With a colour palette now cemented, I chose a narrow black braid trim to further frame the owl print, a small black ribbon bow and Swarvski crystals in black diamond to add further cohesion and sparkle to the piece.

This hat is very lightweight and has a metal comb secured to its base as well as small loops for bobby pins for a secure and comfortable fit.
