Here is another sneak peak at one of the looks from Bombshell Revival’s 2015 Collection – Gypsy Soul. This look is titled “Wild Heart” and encompasses an upcycled dress and headpiece.
The dress is embellished with bird wings and other feathers together with a metal heart shaped lock and brass key. The bodice of the dress has also been overlain with delicate antique lace that may be up to 75 to 100 years old. The main skirt of the dress is an amazing Alexander Henry print of skulls and tea toned roses titled “Resting in Roses” that I have been dying to use ever since its purchase.
The headpiece is a headband style and has been created with a stiffened vintage doily and silk flowers and leaves. Further embellishment of the headpiece was completed using actual African porcupine quills kindly donated to me by a First Nations artisan who uses quills such as these in her jewellery creations.
This may be the last preview that I will give of my new collection before Art in Fashion 613, where the entire collection will be revealed on stage. If I have piqued your interest with these teasers and you are curious to see what other lovely gypsy inspired ladies I dream up, purchase your Art in Fashion 613 ticket to see more. Come and be entertained and enveloped in a night of fashion, art, music and the amazing talent Ottawa has to offer.
