It’s that time again – gearing up for Art in Fashion 613!!!!! The inaugural event was a huge success and my partner, Rene Trim and I are looking forward to throwing another bash with the hope of surpassing last year’s AIF613.
I am starting to hunt for vendors/artists and designers who are interested in participating in Art in Fashion 613 either for the first time or as a returning applicant. The event will be held Saturday, October 15th, 2016 at the Library Archives on Wellington Street in Ottawa and will run from 7 to 11pm (doors open at 6:30pm). AIF613 will consist of a fashion show, night market, bar, food, emcee and music. A website, Facebook page, online ticket purchase site and online, print and television media exposure for the event have all been created and arranged again this year.
I have space for a maximum of 65 vendors/artists. The theme of AIF613 is that art can be fashion and fashion can be art. Accordingly, I am looking for vendors and/or artists who create pieces or are interested in creating a capsule collection inspired by fashion, beauty, the pursuit of beauty, technology in fashion and other fashion related themes to show and sell at AIF613. I am also open to considering vendors who create personal grooming and beauty products, home decor artwork, upcycled artwork and weird and wonderful things that inspire one to think about what art means to them. The cost for a 15×10 space is $100 and includes electrical access as well as many tables as requested.
I am also accepting applications and interest from fashion designers who would like to show a collection at AIF613 for the fashion show portion of the evening. I am interested in designers who create clothing, bags, jewellery, accessories and other forms of wearable art. I have space for 8-10 fashion designers. The cost to participate in the fashion show is $100. The $100 fee also includes a 15×10 booth space, which also gives the designer electrical access and as a many tables as requested. Please note that if you are participating in the fashion show, it is mandatory that you also have a booth space in order to show your work after the fashion show and allow the evening’s guests an opportunity to meet each designer and their work up close and personal. Last year’s AIF613 saw a few of the designers achieve after show sales as well as some custom orders by the end of the evening.
Please contact me, Kym Brown, at bombshellervival@gmail.com with photos of your work or a website with photos of your work if you are interested in participating in this year’s Art in Fashion 613. Please be sure to let me know if you would be attending as a vendor/artist or as a fashion designer. I will take a look at your creations and respond as soon as possible. If you are accepted, I will provide you with further information regarding the event as well as the registration form. Also, if you know of anyone else whose work and/or designs might be a good fit for AIF613, please also provide them with a link to this blog post and my contact information.
Looking forward to working with everyone this year and having a blast at Art in Fashion 613!
